GS Group
A GS Group division

Electronics, firmware and software, engineered to be built.

GSDEV designs bespoke hardware and the software that runs on it, from the first schematic to a released, manufacturable product. Based in Johannesburg South, Gauteng.

Hardware and software, designed together

Most of our work is bespoke: a circuit board, the firmware on it and the app or dashboard people use to run it. Released designs go straight to GSMAN for assembly, programming and test.

Hardware design

Circuit and system design for power, control, sensing and communications, from requirements to verified schematics.

Circuit boards

Schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout and full manufacturing outputs, designed for assembly and test from the first revision.

Embedded firmware

Microcontroller firmware, drivers, bootloaders and connectivity for reliable devices that can be updated in the field.

IoT software

Web dashboards, mobile and desktop apps, APIs and databases that collect, report on and control what your hardware does.

GS Group workflow

GSDEV designs it. GSMAN builds it.

Every design is released as a controlled package, so assembly and production start from the right revision with full product history and traceability.

Systems in service

Some of what we design keeps running after hand-over, and we keep supporting it.

Environmental monitoring

Wi-Fi humidity and temperature sensors logging to an online dashboard, with automatic alerts when conditions leave range and weekly PDF reports.

Support

Engineering Tools

Field calculators for engineers and technicians that run entirely in the browser, with no account and no tracking.

Open the tools

Bespoke controllers

Custom control and interface boards with their firmware, built and tested by GSMAN and serviced through the GSMAN repair portal.

Repair portal

Bring an idea, a prototype or a board that needs fixing.

We take on new products, redesigns of existing boards, firmware for hardware you already have and legacy designs that need a second life.
